How to create Jira issues?

Ernesto Maserati
I registered for https://jira.codehaus.org/browse/SONAR

But when I want to create a bug issue for Sonar products I cannot select the product from the project list.

It seems that it can't be selected from the project dropdown if the Sonar admins did not assciate their project with me as a user.

I have asked several times by email several people from SonarSource but never got a reply on that.

So what is the answer to that?

Hi Ernesto,

The current process is to first discuss any issue on the mailing list. This can lead to the creation of tickets by the lead developer of the concerned project - or not, depending on the output of the discussion :)

So feel free to post bug reports, configuration issues, ideas for improvements or new features here on this list!
Cheers,

I understand. But it took a long way to get to this answer. Contact form of SonarSource did not work (wait wheel appeared forever after submiting my question). E-Mails I wrote to SonarSource employees did not answer this question. And registering to the user mailing list did not work since http://xircles.codehaus.org/lists/user@... showed a error when I clicked on the subscribe link. The Jira admin of SonarSource did not reply to my question.

But now its fine, the support I found today. :-)

Hi Ernesto,

There is a pending migration from Codehaus (you may know that Codehaus will shut down in a couple of months), that may explain some current issues (new registration on mailing list, Jira administrator is a Codehaus' administrator that can handle question/issues on his spare time...).

Those issues will disappear when this migration will be done.

Writing email directly email to SonarSource employees is not option.
Meanwhile the preferred way to ask question is this mailing list.

Cheers,

Re: How to create Jira issues?

I assumed that it makes sense to write a email to the Jira adminstrator of Sonar project. After all he is the admin and usually admins reply.

But its okay, I just did not assume that it is not allowed to write an email to the Jira Sonar administrator.

I am looking forward when the migration is done and some things get better as you say.
